Mad for Pizza – Build Your Own Pizza from Dough to Tops
When in Manila, Mad for Pizza is a pizza store in Quezon City, but unlike the usual pizza parlors that we know, this one lets you have a personal touch in their offerings.
How?
Mad for Pizza lets you build your own custom pizza from dough to the toppings. And not just that, it claims to let you build the pizza with “all the toppings that you want!”
To start off, you will be asked to choose from their four dough variants: Classic, Herb, Garlic Parmesan, and Spinach.
Next, you will pick the sauce from the four flavors that they offer: House Pizza Sauce, Roasted Garlic Alfredo, Fra Diablo, and BBQ.
Then, off to the toppings. At this point, you will be called out to the open kitchen area so you can see all the toppings, point what you want, and let them do the trick.
Choose all the toppings that you want from the over 40 toppings that they offer. Yep, unlimited!
Boom. There’s the pizza, ready for cookin’.
We built two pizza variants. One had a Garlic Parmesan dough as base then blanketed the House Pizza sauce. You can never go wrong with the House Pizza sauce. It’s the basic red sauce with a hint of sweetness. The other one had an Herb dough as base and since we sometimes enjoy living on the edge, we got the Fra Diablo, which was supposedly spicy. However, it wasn’t very spicy so you don’t have to worry about that if you’re not into food with heat.
After a few minutes in the oven, here are the final products.
This is my friend’s pizza, the one with the Garlic Parmesan dough, House Pizza sauce, and topped with mozzarella cheese, cream cheese, bell peppers, onion, mushroom, bratwurst, and bacon.
This is mine and I’d like to call it Diet Pizza because it has a lot of cheese and a lot of meat, and very little veggie. Good for the diet. LOL.
If you want to skip the pizza, although I don’t recommend that when you’re here, you can since Mad for Pizza have other awesome offerings in its menu.
You can try some of its meaty bestsellers, the Tennessee Pork Spare Ribs and the famous Amboy or Angus Beef Belly in Adobo Sauce. I’m giving both two thumbs up.
If you’re on a real diet, unlike my Diet Pizza, Mad for Pizza has a good House Salad.
Pasta?
Mad for Pizza also has a selection of pastas. They have Spaghetti Bolognese, Spaghetti Carbonara, Fried Mac ‘n Cheese, and Beef Stew Pasta.
We tried the Spaghetti Carbonara, but it wasn’t as phenomenal as their pizzas and their meaty selections. A little cream or cheese or both to tweak it can easily make it more delectable.
Mad for Pizza is also notable for its gigantic drinks. I bet you can just get one and have it to share.
Overall, I enjoyed Mad for Pizza because I had the freedom to build my own pizza, deciding each and every aspect of it to meet my personal taste. Plus, I love ribs and beef so the Tennessee Pork Spare Ribs and Amboy are great reasons enough for me to go back.
Looking forward to be there again soon!
