In case you haven’t seen the episode, Jibaro features a golden river siren whose wails can entrap any human who hears it. It’s a short but remarkable episode that enthralled viewers around the world, quickly going viral. (Please go watch it!) And so, inspired by the episode themselves, photographer Johan Andrew Ocampo and his team decided to bring it to life.

Johan, who also goes by the name JAO, posted photos from the shoot on social media, which also quickly blew up. As of writing, his post has gotten over 20,000 reactions, 22,000 shares and over a thousand comments. The project has also been featured in various publications.

Johan wrote on his Facebook post:

“First time I saw the Golden Siren from Jibaro I was automatically drawn to it not because of the soldier’s desire for gold but because as a photographer I wanted to take her picture!

Special thanks to the people who helped make this costume! It was really a team effort and the creativity of those who made the Jibaro costume from scratch that made this shoot possible. Especially to Nikki’s mom who really worked on the costume details and design.”

According to Johan, it took them a month to design and recreate the siren’s costume.
