If you are traveling to Makati via Skyway today, please take alternate routes. This is due to the beam steel bars that collapsed in Makati near Cash and Carry.
According to the Makati City government’s advisory on Facebook:
ADVISORY: Falling steel bars from skyway construction near Cash and Carry, South Super Highway. Both lanes closed. Expect heavy traffic. Please take alternate routes. Makati Rescue Personnel and the Public Safety Department on site to assist motorists. #Makatizens#MyMakati
Motorists are advised to avoid Buendia flyover. A friend of mine is currently stuck in traffic. According to her, it’s a complete standstill and been waiting for about an hour and a half.
As written on the Facebook page, Makati Rescue Personnel and the Public Safety Department are already on site to assist motorists.
Alternate Routes:
If you are coming from Tagaytay, Laguna, Batangas, and going to Makati/Ortigas/BGC, you may take Sucat or Bicutan Exits and take Sucat Road-Baclaran-EDSA. While Bicutan Exit can take you to Magallanes-Arnaiz- EDSA.
But if it’s not important to go out, then don’t. It’s better to stay at home.
