Airport passengers in the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) now has an additional mode of transportation. Starting today, regular taxis are now allowed to pick up passengers in the arrival area. In the past, passengers used to go up the departure area in order to hire a regular taxi because only NAIA-accredited yellow taxis were allowed in the arrival area.
Here are photos showing regular taxis in NAIA. All photos are from PTV 4’s Facebook page. They captioned it with:
Change has arrived in NAIA. Ordinary taxis are now allowed to pick up passengers, in all 4 terminals of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport at all times.
NAIA-accredited yellow taxis have a higher flagdown rate of Php70 compared to regular taxis whose flagdown rate is Php30.
The pick-up locations in NAIA are as follows:
- NAIAย Terminal 1 –ย main arrival curbside
- NAIA Terminal 2 –ย inner arrival curbside between bays 7 and 8
- NAIA Terminal 3 –ย secondary arrival curbside between bays 5 and 6
- NAIA Terminal 4 –ย curbside
What do you think of this change in NAIA?
Even better. Even LESS competition in the departure area for taxis. Going up to the 2nd floor and out to get a taxi is a lot faster anyways.
