Avisala, mga fans ng “Encantadia”!
The original main leads of the widely-loved television fantasy series just had a mini-reunion and it’s truly hitting us with a wave of nostalgia.
Sunshine Dizon, who just transferred networks to ABS-CBN where her former “Encantadia” sisters Karylle and Iza Calzado are currently staying, commemorated their little get-together on the morning talk show “Magandang Buhay” on Monday, June 14, by posting a photo taken outside the studio.
“Soul sister powers activate,” she wrote on the post.
Many colleagues, friends, and fans reacted to the photo, most of whom gushed over the memories of watching the trio in the 2005 series. Sunshine, Karylle, and Iza portrayed three of the Sang’gres (or Royal Blood Fairies) born under Queen Mine-a of the Kingdom Lireo, namely Sang’gre Pirena, Sang’gre Alena, and Sang’gre Amihan respectively.
“Si Danaya na lang kulang!” one said in the comments, referring to Diana Zubiri, who had played the role of Sang’gre Danaya in the original show.
“Encantadia” ran from 2005 to 2006 and was rebooted in 2016 with Kylie Padilla, Glaiza De Castro, Gabbi Garcia, and Sanya Lopez taking on the roles of Sang’gres Amihan, Pirena, Alena, and Danaya respectively. Both Diana Zubiri and Sunshine Dizon made cameo appearances.
Sunshine moved to ABS-CBN Network last May after 25 years in GMA-7. She revealed that she had shared the news of her transfer to her Sang’gre sisters first and that they have been nothing but supportive for her in this new chapter in her career.
“To be honest, I’ve only had a very simple prayer with regards to my career. I’ve always asked the lord to plant me where I will bloom, and in all the seasons of my life, I’ve trusted his will. So when this opportunity came, I just knew in my heart na ito na ‘yung bagong phase (that this is the new phase),” she said at the time.
“I am old and hopefully wise enough to know and understand that the only constant thing in life is change, so whatever will propel you forward, I’m all for that.”
Sunshine will be part of the upcoming series “Marry Me, Marry You” alongside Paulo Avelino, Vina Morales, Cherry Pie Picache, and Janine Gutierrez.
