Sony Pictures is planning to develop a live-action movie adaptation of Japanese artist ONEโs hit manga series One Punch Man.
Venom writers Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner were tapped to write the movie. Meanwhile, Avi Arad and Ari Arad of Arad Productions are producing the film, according to Variety.
One Punch Man tells the story of a man named Saitama who turned out to be a superhero who can defeat any opponent with a single punch. However, this blessing is also a curse because he longs to find a worthy opponent after growing bored by a lack of challenges in his fight against evil.
Sony is very excited about a live-action film of the beloved property, given its popularity and its ability to add another franchise under their belt of upcoming movies.
Rosenberg and Pinkner have become Sony favorites thanks toย Venom, which has a sequel on the way. They are also responsible for the rebootย Jumanjiย franchise.
