When it comes to official social media accounts of government agencies or offices, it’s almost always an expected fact that most posts would be pretty serious and straightforward. Of course, it fits for them because these social media accounts have to be trustworthy and reliable since these are one means for the government to communicate with us citizens.
So, it came as a nice shock to netizens when there was a sudden change in the way the official MMDA Twitter account replied to people asking for information. The MMDA Twitter account is known for giving out real-time information on the traffic condition, blasting out announcements, and answering people’s questions about traffic.
It happened on the morning of August 29th when a certain netizen asked if the traffic was caused by a certain burger promo. In response, the MMDA Twitter admin joked around before saying that it was because of an accident.

Netizens couldn’t help but notice the lighthearted mood of the Twitter account.

It even went as far as a quick and playful banter between the MMDA Twitter account and another netizen. There was even an exchange of compliments that happened between the two.
The surprisingly good mood of the MMDA Twitter account went on for a while during the day, and it truly entertained a lot of people. Some of them even said that it made them a lot easier to endure the traffic.
Well, if this teaches us anything, it’s that it’s sometimes okay to be playful and lighthearted once in a while.
