Itโs rare for people to find and realize what their true passion in life is at such a young age. Luckily, this 17-year-old discovered his calling early on in life.
Meet Fern Tan, or more popularly known by his stage name โFern.โ, the 17-year-old high school fresh grad and recording artist at Universal Records who is making waves in the music scene. His hit single, Into You, has spawned over 1.5 million plays on Spotify, where he has garnered over 200,000 monthly in-app listeners.
For someone so young who is just starting out in this industry, this is such a huge feat. But Fern. doesnโt let the fame get to him.ย When we met him for his EP launch, he didnโt look intimidating but rather like someone you could actually be friends with. He was very down to earth and accommodating to everyone who was there. We sat with him for a pretty โchillโ interview and it felt like we were just talking to one of our closest friends.

As for the launch itself, it took place in Early Night? at The Fort in BGC last March 26. Media interviews and photo sessions started taking place at around 6:30 in the evening while Fern.โs friends started arriving in a short while.
A buffet and merch booth was set up for all of the guests, and the program started rolling at 8. Fern. performed an unreleased track entitled โLie To Meโ followed by the song that started it all, โInto Youโ. Afterwards, there was a gap to allow Fern. to mingle with his guests a bit more and then he performed his latest track, โWanna Dance With Youโ as well as encore performances of โLie To Meโ and โInto Youโ.
Overall, his launch was a success and weย certainly cannot wait for his debut EP to drop. He even shared with us that he was already done working on the follow up for it. The future of OPM looks bright with teens such as Fern. leading the way for the next generation.
