LOOK: Heart Evangelista Paints on Old Dress for Senate Event

Heart Evangelista has proven herself to be more than an actress. She’s also a serious painter commissioned by people to paint on Hermes bags. And the paintings are beautiful. Now, she’s trying on another canvas: a dress.

For a Senate event to be attended by her husband Sen. Chiz Escudero, Evangelista painted on an old terno designed by Mark Bumgarner by cutting the sheer overlay and painting flowers on the inside dress.

She posted a photo of her painting the dress, with the caption, “I was told I needed a filipiñana (which takes 2 weeks usually to create) with 2 hours before the “Centennial Celebration of the Senate” we had to cut off the sheer overlay of my dearest friend@markbumgarner ‘s filipiñana and use the inner as the main dress…decided to paint on it last minute to dress it up ???? coffee + stylist/bff @iamkatrinacruz = this not yet dried filipiñana ???? thank you to my dearest senator hubby for your super last minute requirements and of course your infinite kisses for our efforts????????”

She later posted a photo of the finished product:

Bumgarner also posted a before and after picture of the original dress, captioning it with, “resourcefulness and creativity at its finest“:
