Benguet transforms its neighborhood of houses into a colorful mural, painting different colors on the residences and having a “Rio de Janeiro” feel.

If you’ve seen the animated film “Rio” or the action film “Fast Five”, you’ll know what I mean about having the “Rio de Janeiro” vibe.

This colorful transformation was done specifically at Barangay Balili and in line with the Department of Tourism’s (DOT) REV-BLOOM project.

The project will be officially introduced on June 23 and will take around two months to finish.

Apparently, the project is an adaptation from the favela paintings in Brazil.

The neighborhood might have been considered as an eyesore before, but putting colors on the houses tries to give it a different appeal.

Around 150 house will be painted. The paint is given for free. The residents are the ones who volunteered to do the painting.

After this, DOT plans to transform Quirino Hill, Baguio City next. This neighborhood is three times bigger than Barangay Balili.

What do you think of this colorful neighborhood transformation?
