Little Surfmaid Resort – The Perfect Getaway in La Union
In the Philippines, rainy season typically means no more vacation. But it’s not time to put away the beach gear yet. La Union offers us its waves and beautiful beach towns long past summer’s end.
Recently, I was invited to stay at the Little Surfmaid Resort in San Juan, La Union. It was a wonderful 2-day stay for me and was the best weekend vacation I’ve had in a long time. The resort has been in the same family for years and offers an outstanding vacation experience.

Little Surfmaid Resort is run by the owners themselves and is located right on beach where the largest surf competitions in the country are held. It’s the absolute perfect place for a relaxing getaway from busy city life.

Now that the TPLEX expressway is open, it only takes a 5-hour drive to La Union from Metro Manila.
Overall it was a great experience. The staff is amazing, and the rooms are very comfortable. The bathrooms are clean and the views from the rooms are outstanding.
The location is the best in the area, and the beaches are beautiful. You can walk for hours on uncrowded beaches right from the resort’s beautiful beach deck.

Oh, and did I mention that the resort has a restaurant with a beach view? All the comforts of home, but with a beach outside your backdoor.
The surf resort makes everyone feel at home, and has a surf school right on the property. You can learn to surf for less than it costs to park your car in Makati. Don’t be scared to learn, these guys have been teaching surfing for decades.

The area that the hotel is located in is great, too. You can get to all the local beach shops, play volleyball, kayaking and much more – all within walking distance.

When In Manila, take a break and come here to get away from the city sometime. If you’re looking for a great place to go to when you get out of town, you’ve got to go to Little Surfmaid Resort. It’s one the best places in the Philippines in my opinion.
