Since KUMU launched in 2018, that app has grown to become a vibrant and welcoming space for every Filipino. More than that, the live streaming platform has also allowed its users to connect, create, and most importantly, be their authentic selves.
And while there has been a lot to celebrate in the past two years, the ride has not always been smooth sailing. Just like any other startup, KUMU has faced its fair share of pitfalls amidst all the milestones. However, every obstacle has been just as vital in making the company what it is today.

“We want everyone to hear about our story, straight from us. It’s really to give an honest perspective of the journey KUMU has had,” says Victoria Herrera, Kumu’s Director of Communications.
Beyond reflecting on the ups and downs of KUMU’s story, the podcast also aims to urge ambitious innovators and entrepreneurs to dive into the world of startups.
With KUMU engaging the millennial and Gen Z audiences, it has become a platform capable of encouraging its users to reimagine the capabilities of technology — especially in an emerging market with a lot of potential.
The exciting opportunity to be a model company ultimately stands at the forefront of the podcast’s mission.

While KUMU still has a long way to go, hopefully what the team learns and shares along the way will be enough to inspire and guide the next generations looking to go down the same path.
“The Kumu story is just beginning, but it’s already been a long, circuitous, and colorful journey so far; in a way, this is our attempt to record it for our own purposes. At the same time, we hope to demystify and open up the journey of growing a startup to other people who are hard at work building the future, or planning to take the leap. We know it can be a lonely journey, and we are right here with you!” shares Kumu co-founder Rexy Dorado.
Get ready to hear all the crazy and candid conversations between the individuals who work behind the scenes. Tune in every Monday to The Kumu Podcast: Kumu Kuwentuhan on Anchor or Spotify.
