Feeling pressured and stressed out right now? Worry not, here’s a track that could help you relax, and it’s guaranteed by scientists.
According to reports, an eight-minute track titled “Weightless” by British band Marconi Union has been declared by scientists as the most relaxing song ever recorded and can help slow heart rate, reduce blood pressure and lower levels of stress.
“The results showed that the song Weightless was 11 per cent more relaxing than any other song and even caused drowsiness among women in the lab. It induced a 65 per cent reduction in overall anxiety and brought them to a level 35 per cent lower than their usual resting rates.” Says reports.
The study was conducted on 40 women, who were connected to sensors, to test their heart rate, blood pressure, breathing and brain activity while different songs were played.

What’s your take on it? Did it work for you?
What a brilliant advertising idea! Of course we all know that if it is on facebook it must be true and what could be even more convincing than to add scientists and not just ordinary scientists but IMAGINARY FACEBOOK SCIENTISTS. So now that we all know that this song works all we have to do is a quick click on the itunes link at the top and we have spent our money.
Not a single bit…
Nope. Didn’t work for me. Jazz pianist Bob James’ “Far From Turtle” is more relaxing. Better sounding too.
The music has some similarities with the music of Otograph. Search for it on youtube “Otograph Monsters Deluxe” and yes, they’re the ones who made the BGM for the game.
traditional japanese instrumental works better for me. but curious: who are these scientists? what other music did it compete with? how comprehensive was the selection, how diverse the volunteers?
