South Korean actress Lee Joo-sil, who played the role of Wi Ha-joon’s mother in “Squid Game 2,” has passed away. She was 80 years old.

According to reports by Korean media, her agency 1230culture confirmed that she passed away on February 2 after battling stomach cancer.
“Actress Lee Joo-sil passed away from stomach cancer this morning,” they announced.
The agency also revealed that three months ago, Joo-sil’s health declined, and she was diagnosed with stomach cancer. This follows her previous diagnosis of breast cancer in 1993, which she successfully battled for over ten years.
Aside from “Squid Game 2,” Joo-sil portrayed prominent roles in “Train to Busan,” “The Uncanny Counter,” “Beauty and Mr. Romantic,” and “It’s Beautiful Now.”
