Lea Salonga’s Child Nic Chien Joins the Cast of “Into the Woods” PH Production

Lea Salonga and her child, Nic Chien, will both showcase their remarkable talent in the Philippine production of “Into the Woods”!

The Theatre Group Asia (TGA) recently announced that Nic, who uses he/they pronouns, is joining the stellar cast of the upcoming musical as Jack from “Jack and the Beanstalk.”

“When the fun is done, he steals what he can and runs! NIC CHIEN is JACK!” the post read.

In 2017, Nic made his theater debut as Alice in “Matilda the Musical” in the Philippines. He has also been performing in school since he was five years old and has appeared on stage with Lea during her previous concerts.

Aside from the Lea and Nic, the cast includes Eugene Domingo, couple Nyoy and Mikkie Volante, Joaquin Pedro Valdes, and Arielle Jacobs.

Based on James Lapine’s book, “Into the Woods” intertwines the plots of “Jack and the Beanstalk,” “Cinderella,” “Little Red Riding Hood,” and “Rapunzel,” with a plot centered around a baker and his wife who wish to have a child.

“Into the Woods” is set to stage from August 7 to 24 at the Samsung Performing Arts Theater.
