Kylie Padilla’s look at the recent GMA Gala was a total head-stunner! She donned a pearl white, wavy, and wet-looking gown, earning her the title “Best Dressed Star of the Night” alongside David Licauco.
The actress talked about the empowering story and inspiration behind her gorgeous gown by Ehrran Montoya through an Instagram Reel showcasing her look. She revealed that it was originally based on water nymphs and mermaids, which the fashion designer called “The Birth of Venus.”
“Water is a symbol for healing, femininity, and sensuality. And thus, our vision was born into this, what everyone called โwetโ was actually an image we created of a heroine emerging from the depths of her deepest pain and sorrows,” she wrote.
“From drowning, she is reborn a Goddess, owning her power, her strength, her intelligence, and her sensuality.”

Meanwhile, Ehrran explained that Kylie’s overall look was inspired by “The Birth of Venus,” a famous painting by Sandro Botticelli, with a vision that makes it look like she emerged from the water.
Ehrran also mentioned that they utilized an iridescent material with liquid effect to completely achieve the visual and come up with a “mother of pearl” effect.
“This, by far is the most intense fabric manipulation I’ve done as I need to make it look wet and has to appear as it was pressed on her skin. Draping it without the use of solidification but only pins is a pain-in-the-neck. But nonetheless, all of the efforts poured in creating this is all worth it,” he added.
