In an exclusive interview with GMA Integrated News, both actors admitted to feeling pressured about the upcoming film sequel following the success of the 2019 romance film Hello, Love, Goodbye.

Hello, Love, Goodbye previously earned a total revenue of P880 million, making it one of the highest-grossing Philippine films of all time.

“Medyo mabilis lahat ng nangyari (Everything happened so fast) so it’s just sinking in now I think and I’m pretty nervous,” she shared.

“Of course, there’s gonna be comparison in a way and syempre ‘yung pressure of the box office. But it is for the people to decide and it’s for them to really, you know, by word of mouth to tell if the movie is worth watching,” Alden continued.

However, the 28-year-old actress revealed that she is thankful for her co-star throughout the shooting of the film.

“I think it’s just very comforting to know na I’m not doing this alone. Because like what I said kanina, grabe lang siguro ‘yung, sobra akong kinakabahan sa lahat. Lahat ng mangyayari so it’s just nice na feeling ko ngayon hindi ko lang siya mag-isa hinaharap kasi kasama ko si Alden (Maybe it’s just that I’m really nervous about everything, so it’s nice that I feel like I’m not facing it alone because Alden is with me).” she added.

The A Very Good Girl actress also shared that she was able to get to know the Pulang Araw actor better compared to their first movie together.

“When we did Hello, Love, Goodbye [nung] 2019, that was purely work,” she said, adding that they never had a chance to talk and connect as friends.

“Malaking part ng (a big part of our) chemistry is trust and friendship and I think that’s what we have right now,” she continued. “Hindi mo naman makikilala kung hindi magiging open yung isang tao, and siguro yun lang yung nakatulong sa aming dalawa (You can’t truly get to know someone unless they’re willing to open up, and I think that’s what really helped the two of us). We didn’t force it.”

Directed by Cathy Garcia-Sampana, Hello, Love, Again continues Joy and Ethan’s story five years after Joy left Hong Kong for Canada.

Hello, Love, Again will be in cinemas on November 13.
