Kate Valdez could help but be moved to tears during an interview with GMA News when she was asked to address the rumors about her allegedly having an “attitude problem.”
“Hindi ko kind of matanggap kasi alam ko sa sarili ko na hindi ako ganoon [I kind of can’t accept it because I know in my heart that I’m not like that],” she told reporters, according to GMA News.

She admitted that she doesn’t know how the rumors began but that it’s starting to affect her personal life. “Hindi ko po ide-deny na na-stress talaga ako dun sa issue, pati yung family ko affected sila [I can’t deny that I’m stressed out about the issue, even my family is affected by it],” she said.
She also denied claims that she left GMA-7’s musical show Studio 7 because she didn’t get along with her coworkers.
“Wala pong katotohanan yun, kasi love ako ng Studio 7,” she added. “Lahat, close ko sila, kaya hindi ko alam kung saan nanggagaling yun, and I’m sad kasi naaapektuhan yung friendship namin.”
[“There is no truth to that because Studio 7 loves me. I am close with all of them so I don’t understand where the rumor originated and I’m sad because it’s affecting our friendship.”]
Previously, Kate clarified that she left Studio 7 because her contract with them ended. She added that she will now be focusing on her studies.

Kate also admitted that she has been receiving hate from fans for her villain roles onscreen.
“Some, maiintindihan ka if ie-explain mo, pero yung iba, they don’t know nga what you’re doing, lalo ‘pag sa showbiz, lalo ‘pag into characters na gano’n, which is yung mga seryoso, dark side. Mahirap talaga siya. Nasa-sad ako kasi nami-misinterpret nila ako,” she shared.
[“Some, they’ll understand if you explain it, but there are others who don’t really know what you’re doing, especially in showbiz, especially with characters like that which are serious, dark side. It’s really tough. It saddens me that I am being misinterpreted because of it.”]
“Nakakatulong na sinu-surround mo yung sarili mo ng good and genuine people na mage-encourage sayo na tama yung ginagawa mo,” she continued.
[“It helps when you surround yourself with good and genuine people who will encourage you that you are doing the right thing.”]
