Brillante Mendoza’s Mindanao with Judy Ann Santos is surely for International quality as Judy Ann Santos takes home the Best Actress award at the Cairo International Film Festival.
The movie is also an official entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) in December 2019.
It’s only the 2nd time that a Filipina won the Best Actress award. The first one was won by Nora Aunor for the Flor Contemplacion story back in 1995.
The film also won the Henry Barakat Award for Best Artistic Contribution.
