Last August 17, In The Mix 2017—the music festival featuring an eclectic roster of international acts—drew a large crowd of avid music lovers at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
Part of its line up of talented artists is DNCE, an American dance-rock band consisting of members Joe Jonas, Jack Lawless, Cole Whittle, and JinJoo Lee.
Here are the DNCE’s best moments at In The Mix 2017:
4. Fun and mischievous performance
DNCE was fun to watch as they performed their hits such as “Body Moves,” “Kissing Strangers,” Toothbrush,” “Pay My Rent,” “DNCE,” and “Cake by the Ocean”.
Joe Jonas and Cole Whittle did a lot of crazy antics up in the stage, while JinJoo Lee amazed the crowd with her captivating guitar play. Jack Lawless kept banging the drums for those sweet beats.
3. 90’s, early 2000’s and current pop songs mash up
It was a blast with the past and a party at the present as DNCE performed hit 90’s, early 2000’s, and current pop music while adding their own unique and upbeat style.
Their mash ups consisted of Spice Girls’ “Wannabe,” Britney Spears’ “Toxic”, TLC’s “No Scrubs” and Drake’s “Hold On, We’re Going Home”.
2. Joe Jonas rocking a Freddie Mercury look
Joe Jonas was sporting a classic Freddie Mercury look at the show. It was the first thing I noticed as he walked out the stage. To end their set, they paid tribute to Queen’s frontman by performing “We are the Champions”!
1. DNCE showed some love to the Philippines
After singing “We Are the Champions”, Joe Jonas held up the Philippine flag and ran around the stage to wave it. As confetti started to fall all over the venue, DNCE continued showing their love for their Pinoy fans.
