Jane de Leon and Kiray Celis bagged prestigious awards at the Ima Wa Ima Asian International Film Festival in Osaka, Japan!
Jane won the Best Actress award in the suspense-horror thriller full-length category for her performance in the horror anthology film โShake, Rattle, & Roll Extreme.โ Meanwhile, Kiray clinched the Best Performance in a Comedy award for her role in the filmย “Malditas in Maldives.”
Star Magic congratulated Jane in a social media post, sharing a clip of her receiving the award.

Kiray also took to social media to celebrate her new milestone. She expressed heartfelt gratitude to her supporters and director-producer Njel de Mesa and dedicated the award to her co-stars Arci Muรฑoz and Janelle Tee.
“Maraming maraming salamat po. Para sainyo po ito. Sana soon, mapanuod niyo na sa Pilipinas ang movie namin para malaman niyo po kung bakit proud na proud kami sa pelikula namin na to [Thank you very, very much. This is for you. I hope that soon, you can watch our film in the Philippines so that you’d know why we’re so proud of this film],” she wrote.

Aside from the two actresses, South Korean actor Kim Ji-soo, who recently signed with Sparkle GMA Artist Center, took home the Outstanding International Actor in a Cross-Cultural Series award for his role as Dr. Kim Young in the drama series โAbot-Kamay na Pangarap.โ
Meanwhile, Njel won the Best Director, Best Cinematographer, and Best Picture in the suspense-thriller-horror category for his film “Coronaphobia.”
The Ima Wa Ima Asian International Film Festival recognizes exceptional talent in Asian film and television. It was held on December 1 at Sumiyoshi Main Hall in Osaka, Japan.
