During two separate interviews on Tonight with Boy Abunda the celebrity couple shared how they felt about having children. Both James Reid and Nadine Lustre were candid about thinking it isn’t the right time to have children, considering the “state of the world” and all.

James was the first of the two to appear on the show, where host Boy Abunda opened the topic by asking about his future plans with girlfriend, Nadine. James replied by saying: “Where I am right now, I don’t think I can even have kids.”
“The state of the world right now, I don’t know if I wanna bring another life into the world the way it is,” he continued.
And if he could say anything to his future child, it would be that “I’m sorry things have gotten this way.” James finished the line of thinking with the sentiment: “The only thing I can think of is imagining the world is going to be like in 20 years. We haven’t changed the way that we live.”
Nadine, in a later interview, was asked to respond to the stance of James. She expressed the same perspective, saying: “I agree with him. Ngayon kasi medyo maraming nangyayari sa mundo natin na hindi tayo sure. [There is so much happening in the world right now that we can’t be sure.] A lot of stuff is happening. Alam mo na ‘yon Tito Boy. [You know that already, Tito Boy.]”

Aside from their hesitation regarding bringing children into a world like this, Nadine also mentioned they were both “still young”. At 26 years old, she still has many things she wants to achieve. However, she did sweetly mention that she believed James would make a great father.
