As they say, Elvis lives.
Fresh from the release of Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis biopic is the announcement that there will be another movie featuring the King of Rock and Roll.
This time it’s Priscilla, based on the 1985 memoir Elvis and Me. It’s written by Elvis’ former wife Priscilla Presley and details how she met the singer, their marriage, and their divorce.
Priscilla will be directed by Sofia Coppola, who also helmed movies like The Virgin Suicides, Lost in Translation, Marie Antoinette, and The Bling Ring.
According to Deadline, Priscilla will be played by Cailee Spaeny, who was Coppola’s first choice. Elvis will be played by Euphoria‘s Jacob Elordi, who auditioned for the role.
Elordi joins a growing list of actors who have portrayed the iconic singer. Just recently, Austin Butler earned praise for his performance in the biopic Elvis. According to Priscilla, “Austin Butler, who played Elvis is outstanding. Bravo to him… he knew he had big shoes to fill. He was extremely nervous playing this part. I can only imagine.”
There’s no word when Priscilla will be released.
