When in Manila be sure to drop by the Ayala Malls to experience world class performances from some of the best international artists in the world. Recently Ayala Malls brought back the America’s Best Dance Crew Season 1 winners, the Jabbawockeez for a third mall tour in the Philippines. The tour was held from Jan 16 to 20 with stops in Glorietta, Trinoma, Alabang Town Center, Abreeza Mall and Market Market. The tour also included guest dance crew and ABDC Season 2 winners, Super Cr3w.
I was fortunate enough to get a hold of VIP tickets as well as a meet and greet with the Jabbawockeez and Super Cr3w at the Market Market stop of the tour. Before their performance some members of the Jabbawockeez came out and waved to the thousands of fans who crowded the Market Market activity center as well as throw out free Jabbwockeez gear that included snap back caps, shirts, scarves and even masks.

For those of you who have been living in a cave the past few years and are not familiar with the Jabbawockeez,, they are a hip-hop dance crew based in San Diego consisting of 6 members some of which are proudly Filipinos namely: Phil “Swagger Boy” Tayag, Chris “Cristyle” Gatdula and Rynan “Kid Rainen” Paguio. The rest of the members are Kevin “KB” Brewer, Ben “B-Tek” Chung and Jeff “Phi” Nguyen.
Their dance styles include popping, bboying and freestyling but they are best known for their perfectly timed and synchronized movements to a variety of hip-hop beats. They dance with masks on to enable the audience to focus on the whole group and not on the individual. This performance is actually part of their Las Vegas show entitled MUS.IC which showcases the groups’ versatility.
The show apart from being entertaining was also very interactive as some members of the audience were asked to be a part of the performance.
The guest dance crew Super Cr3w also wearing masks came out in full force with high flying stunts and tricks.
The Market Market crowd was treated to a showcase of athletic ability carefully incorporated to intricate choreography.
For the finale we were treated to a collaboration of both the Jabbawockeez and Super Cr3w, which hilariously included the sexiest version of Gangnam style I have ever seen.
As the show ended both dance crews came out and finally revealed themselves to the thousands of fans in the Market Market activity center.
Thank you to the Jabbawockeez and Super Cr3w for such an awesome performance. The show was a spectacular display of world class talent and entertainment. Thank you to Ayala Malls for giving us not only a wonderful shopping experience but also a chance to watch amazing artists.
