Actress and vlogger Ivana Alawi addressed questions about whether she plans to enter politics.

In a viral TikTok video that garnered over 2 million views, Ivana revealed that she will not be joining politics in the upcoming elections.
“Bakit naman ako tatakbo sa ngayon? Wala akong alam sa politics. Wala kong alam sa paggawa ng batas and siguro kung papasok man ako sa ganyan, dapat mag-aral man lang ako ng three to four years because I don’t want to put our country at risk (Why would I run for office? I don’t know anything about politics. I don’t know how to make laws, and if ever I do enter something like that, I should at least study for three to four years because I don’t want to put our country at risk),” she said.
Ivana emphasized that you don’t have to be in politics to make a difference.
“Guys, kayang-kaya natin gawin ‘yun even without being into politics. Kahit wala kang position, wala kang upuan kaya mo makatulong (Guys, we can help other people without being into politics. Even without a position or a seat, you can still help),” she continued. “Hindi mo kailangan maging congressman or mayor or councilor para makatulong ka… Kapag papasok ka sa politics at ipaglalaban mo ang Pilipinas…dapat may laman ‘yung utak mo (You don’t need to be a congressman, mayor, or councilor to make a difference… If you’re going to enter politics and fight for our country, your mind should be equipped with knowledge).
Then, the vlogger encouraged the public to vote wisely in the upcoming elections.
“Kapag boboto kayo, please vote wisely. Kasi mahal natin ang Pilipinas (When you vote, please vote wisely because we love the Philippines. I believe aasenso ang Pilipinas (the country will prosper) as long as we pick the right leaders and the right people to lead our country,” she told her 14 million followers on the platform.
She wrapped up her message with a powerful statement, urging those planning to run for office to be committed and give their absolute best: “At kung tatakbo ka sana man lang ibibigay mo ‘yung all-in mo hindi pwede ‘ah raket ko ito.’ Dapat dedicated ka, give your all. Dapat alam mo ‘yung ginagawa mo at mahal mo ang ating mga kababayan. Kasi dapat ang nasa utak mo lagi is them, kung makasarili ka, ‘wag ka nang tumakbo (If you’re going to run for office, you should give it your all. It can’t just be ‘this is my hustle.’ You need to be dedicated and give your all. You should know what you’re doing and love our fellow countrymen. If you’re selfish, then don’t run.”

Due to the recent news of celebrities and social media personalities filing their candidacy, Ivana, along with celebrities like Gerald Anderson, Boy Abunda, and Vic Sotto, expressed that they are not interested in entering politics.
With over 18 million subscribers on YouTube and 14 million followers on TikTok, Ivana is also known for joining the hit action series “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo.”
