Actress Maris Racal has made it official: she and former Rivermaya frontman, Rico Blanco, are dating!
This news was confirmed during a digital press conference for two “Maalaala Mo Kaya” episodes scheduled to premiere this June.
“Kami po ni Rico,” she told the media. “I think basing po sa post na ginawa ko po, I think it’s very obvious. Right now, we are very excited and busy din. We are preparing such beautiful music together. Kaya abangan nila ‘yon soon.”
The couple made headlines last March 2021 when the 23-year-old actress posted a sweet birthday greeting for Rico, consequently sparking romance rumors. Neither of the two confirmed at the time that they were in a relationship, but Ruffa Gutierrez teased in the comments section of the post: “Ayyyyyyy ? the cat is out of the bag ?❤️”
However, Ruffa refrained from admitting anything when plenty of fans started asking her what the real score was between the two celebrities. “Oh I don’t know. Lol,” she said in reply to a fan clarifying if she meant that Maris’ post was a jowa reveal. “Baka the cat is a new cover [of a song]. Let’s ask [Maris],” she added, tagging her young costar.
The two had previously collaborated on a single in 2019 titled “Abot Langit.”
