For those who are afraid of clowns, Stephen Kingโs novelย Itย should be avoided at all costs. But itโs hard to avoid when it keeps showing up in pop culture. The novel came out in 1986. A TVย miniseries starring Tim Curry as the creepy clown Pennywise came out in 1990. A successful remake was launched last year. When will this madness end?
Well, guess what? A sequel to last year’s hit was announced and they revealed the cast!
Stan Uris will be portrayed by Andy Bean, who previously starred in Allegiant and Power.
Eddie Kaspbrak will be portrayed byย James Ransone, who was in The Wire, Sinister, and Sinister 2.
Beverly Marsh will be played by Jessica Chastain, who we saw in The Help, Zero Dark Thirty, and Interstellar.
Bill Denbrough will be portrayed by James McAvoy, who starred in Split, Atomic Blonde, and X-Men: First Class.
Richie Tozier will be played by Bill Hader, who was in Trainwreck, 22 Jump Street, and Her.
There’s no word who will portray the adult versions ofย Ben Hanscom andย Mike Hanlon.
And of course, Bill Skarsgard will return to play Pennywise the Dancing Clown.
Itย tells the story of a group of children terrorized by a clown who exploits the fears and phobias of its victims. The book is one of Kingโs most recognizable works, withย Publishers Weeklyย announcing it was the bestselling book of 1986. The clown Pennywise was also recognized as one of the scariest clowns in pop culture.
The sequel will be released on September 6, 2019.
