There’s no doubt about it: Boracay is still the Philippines’ number 1 summer destination. Everyone from your friends to your family, and your neighbor next door will be making plans to the island that was named as the “World’s Best Island” in 2016!
The tale of white sand beaches, blue waters, and a beautiful sunset over the horizon never loses its charm. Tourists from all over the world flock to this tropical paradise, and while that may sound exciting, the actual reality of having so many people on the island is, well… not.
But don’t let a large crowd put a damper on your plans to visit the picturesque island of Boracay. While the option to DIY your trip sounds tempting and cheaper, it can actually cost you more due to the influx of tourists in Boracay. A quick, hassle-free, and smooth service that will bring you from the airport to your hotel will really come in handy. Personally, we experienced a completely speedy and efficient transfer from the mainland of Aklan to the white shores of Boracay with Island Star Express.
As soon as we got off the plane and entered the Kalibo Airport, it was easy to find the booth named Island Star Express, with its green sign.
They confirmed our booking for a second, and gave us a sticker to stick on our clothes for easier identification. This would really come in handy with the throngs of people at the Caticlan Jetty Port!
Island Star Express’ bus is new, clean, and comfortable.
We were quickly led to a tourist bus, spanking new and squeaky clean. I would remember riding in beat-down vans during my earlier visits to Boracay over the years, and this was a refreshing change — you just knew that you were safe in their well-maintained coaches.
It wasn’t hard for me and my companion to drift off to sleep in the 1-hour and 45-minute drive to Caticlan, as the rest of the guests on the bus did.
We quickly got on the boat going to Boracay and skipped the long lines!
When we arrived at the Caticlan Jetty Port to board the boat that would bring us to Boracay, it was utter mayhem — and this was during a lean season. Hordes of visitors were queued and there seemed to be a long waiting line to pay for the environmental fees and the terminal fees. Fortunately, what would have taken us several minutes to an hour, only took us 5 minutes at best because everything was already arranged by Island Star Express.
We wouldn’t have to wait excruciatingly for our turn to pay the environmental fees, and neither would we risk running out of seats on the boat. We were quickly led to the dock ahead of everyone else, as we boarded a boat that would finally take us to Boracay in 10 minutes.
Once you arrive at the port in Boracay, you wouldn’t have to worry about getting lost because there will be another Island Star Express agent waiting, ready to lead you to your shuttle to the hotel.
Finally, we were in beautiful Boracay, with no transport woes threatening to spoil our vacation. We stayed at Patio Pacific Boracay located at Station 1 hassle-free and worry-free.
The entire service was convenient, efficient, and speedy, and best of all, their rates are affordable. A round-trip transfer from Kalibo to Boracay is at P1,075 for adults and P635 for children all-in. If you’re coming from Caticlan, the rates are at P975 (adults) and P635 (kids) all-in.
They also have rates for one-way transfers, land transfers, and even private transfers for company outings or conventions. You can e-mail them at hello@islandstarexpress.com for booking inquiries.
