Filipina voice talent and content creator Inka Magnaye is part of the voice cast of the Philippine release of the upcoming superhero film Blue Beetle! On Instagram, she proudly announced that she will voice the Scarab, an ancient alien relic, whose character is pivotal in the DC Super Heroโs story. It is originally voiced by singer-actress Becky G.
“IโM IN A DC MOVIE!! I am wildly honored to announce that I will be the voice of the scarab for the Philippine theatrical release of DCโs new movie, Blue Beetle,” [sic] she wrote.

She continued, “Itโs been one of my big dreams to be a canon part of a superhero world, and now I get to share this wonderful news with all of you!!” The 34-year-old also revealed that some of her lines will be in Tagalog.ย

Warner Bros. Philippines confirmed the news through an Instagram post with the caption, “The scarab chose her. @inkamagnaye is the voice of the scarab in the Philippine release of upcoming action-adventure #BlueBeetle! PH Represent!”

Blue Beetle follows the story of college graduate Jaime Reyes, portrayed by “Cobra Kai” breakout star Xolo Maridueรฑa, who finds his purpose in the world, but suddenly ends up in possession of the Scarab. Chosen as its symbiotic host, he becomes the superhero Blue Beetle. It will premiere in Philippine cinemas on August 16, 2023.
