I love eating chips. I eat it when I’m watching a movie, reading a book, or even when catching up with friends over drinks. It’s a versatile snack that can be enjoyed anywhere and with any activity since it’s portable, affordable, and delicious. I have a few favorites out of the ones I’ve tried and there’s a new addition: Super Crunch. The brand is known for its variety of crunchy corn chips. If you’re not familiar with it, it’s very popular in Visayas and Mindanao, and is quickly becoming just as popular in Luzon.
Super Crunch’s corn chips come in two popular variants: Cheesiest and Tasty Sweet Corn. The first thing you’ll notice when opening a bag of their chips is the crunch. True to its name, each chip comes with a satisfying cruuuuuuunch as you chew on it. In fact, after taking photos of the product (which took a while because I kept moving around to find the best light), I didn’t eat it right away and stored it in a food container. Even after being exposed to the air for quite some time, it was still mostly crunchy when I ate it the following day.
As for the flavors, it’s hard to pick a favorite because both offer something different. The Cheesiest flavor has a sweet taste that reminds us of the corn snack drizzled with cheese powder. It certainly reminded us of afternoons snacking on this when we were kids (and drinking the cheese-flavored juice). The Tasty Sweet Corn, meanwhile, has an interesting profile because its sweetness is balanced by the chip’s savory profile. Both flavors have a corn aftertaste that we see in premium stone-ground chips.
Super Crunch’s Corn Chips also come in the Cheddar Cheese and Barbecue flavors. On top of that, the brand also has other variants, such as the Super Crunch Nachos in Cheese and Barbecue, and the Chip-charon in Pinoy Bawang and Lechon Kawali. We enjoyed the Nachos because it reminded us of the snack, while the Chip-charon has familiar flavors in crackling form.
We recommend Super Crunch for foodies looking to try something new. The crunchiness alone is worth the purchase, and it comes with so many flavors that you can try depending on your cravings.
