We’ve seen plenty of Jokers in the past but that doesn’t mean there’s not enough space for one more. We watchedย Cesar Romero, Jack Nicholson, Heath Ledger, and Jared Leto. Thereโll be a new Joker and heโll be played by Joaquin Phoenix, and we got to see our first photo of the actor in full makeup for a biopic.

Phoenixโs Joker will be set outside the DC Extended Universe and will have no effect on Letoโs future appearances as the Joker. He will star with Robert de Niro as a talk show host,ย Deadpoolโs Zazie Beetz, and there are rumors thatย American Horror Storyโs Frances Conroy will join as the Jokerโs mother.

Warner Bros. even released a teaser for Phoenix, and TMZย captured a clip of a scene being shot on the subway.
Phillips mentioned thatย Jokerย will be different from the other films. Weโre excited for it to come out on October 4, 2019!
