About a year since Brie Larson was first announced to play the titular role in the movie Captain Marvel, we finally have a first look!
The 28-year-old actress was photographed while on set in Atlanta, Georgia, in full costume as Carol Danvers, an Air Force pilot who gains superpowers after her DNA is accidentally mixed with that of a Kree alien.
In the photo, Brie is seen rocking a teal, silver, and gray suit, which looks cool — but confused the heck out of Marvel comic book fans.
In the comic books, Captain Marvel’s costume is depicted in blue, red, and yellow, which fans quickly pointed out. As one wrote, “Great suit, but why on earth is it green?!”
However, Brie’s costume is technically correct, as it’s actually a Kree uniform, just before officially accepting the title of Captain Marvel. It’s entirely plausible, then, that this uniform is actually Carol Danvers from a flashback scene, and we still may get to see the classic blue-red-yellow combo.
