Some of OPM’s most important years were the ’90s and ’00s, when bands like Eraserheads, Sugarfree, The Itchyworms, and Rivermaya dominated the music scene with their guitar riffs and soulful lyrics. While the genre is still active with talented musicians, many look back on these two decades with fondness and nostalgia.
Last November 25, the titans of OPM gathered together for Smart’s GETMUSIC NURock Years, the biggest rock concert featuring the most talented in the genre. Ely Buendia, Ebe Dancel, Barbie Almalbis, The Itchyworms, and Rivermaya played full sets of their greatest hits for their fans!
The concert was put together by NU107FM, the legendary music station that championed local musicians, helping unsigned artists get the music deals and recognition they deserved. While they have been off air since 2010, this concert was a reunion for fans and industry members.
