One of the best ways to explore the old-world charm of Intramuros is through the tranvia.
The tranvia is a streetcar system that traces its history to the Spaniards. This was later modernized during the American colonial period when the Manila Electric Rail and Light Company (Meralco) introduced electric streetcars. World War II destroyed the tranvia, and it was too expensive to restore so it went off the road.
Luckily, the Intramuros Administration (IA) restored the tranvia and you can now rent the entire streetcar. On top of that, the rates have been adjusted.
According to IA on social media, “We’re thrilled to announce that we’re also making the Tranvia experience more accessible to everyone with our exciting new pricing options! you can now book the ENTIRE Tranvia starting at P1,200 accommodating up to 24 passengers!”

The rate of P1,200 is good for one hour, but you can also rent it for four hours for P4,000. If you want to spend an entire day in the Walled City, the rental fee for eight hours is P8,000. Guests will decide on the route and must be within Intramuros only.
The rates are inclusive of fuel and a driver, but there will be no tour guide. You may see the list of DOT-accredited guides here: https://intramuros.gov.ph/guides/.
