A few days ago, fans of couple Jay Contreras and Sarah Abad were met with the shocking news of their apparent breakup.
Now, Sarah has come forward to confirm the split on her Instagram stories.
“I appreciate all the love and overwhelming support people have sent and continue sending our way, most especially to all my friends who have tried to reach out. Soon, I might have the courage to talk to all of you,” Sarah wrote.
“Please know that Jay and I will remain good friends and loving parents to our kids. It would be a new journey for both of us. This has been heartbreaking and painful, but always praying for strength and acceptance. Thank you,” she added.
Sarah and Jay’s breakup was first reported after Sarah had left a cryptic comment on Jay’s Mother’s Day post dedicated to her. “It may not be the same between us, but I’ll be forever grateful for giving me 2 wonderful angels. Thank u,” Sarah had said.

It has not been confirmed what the cause of their breakup was.
Jay and Sarah married in a memorable “black wedding” ceremony in 2009 at Paco Church, Manila. They share two children, Kidlat and Isla.
