The whole world celebrates Pride Month in commemoration of the LGBTQ+ rights movement. It’s a time when members of this demographic promote their rights and call attention to issues that are important to them. As the LGBT lifestyle becomes more mainstream, more people, companies, and establishments have come out to support it. Members of the community all around the world hold parades, buildings and landmarks are filled with rainbow hues, and cities even painted their pedestrian lanes with the colors of pride.
This year, Quezon City is celebrating as well. Just like last year, they showed their support for Pride Month through their rainbow-painted pedestrian lanes within Araneta Center in Cubao. The area is home to Smart Araneta Coliseum, Gateway Mall, Kia Theater, and all the high-rise residential areas.
To add up some hues to the celebration, they also colored their skywalk with the LGBTQ+ shades. Araneta Center’s skywalk is the bridge between New Frontier and Theater and Gateway Mall.
