Dragon Blade is an upcoming historical action film written andย directed by Daniell Lee and starring Jackie Chan. In the film, Chanย will play Huo An, the commander of the Protection Squad of theย Western Regions during the Han Dynasty in China. Dragon Blade is set forย release in IMAX 3D on 19 February 2015, the first day Chinese Newย Year holiday period.
The film is inspired by the story of a Roman legion that made it all theย way into China during the Han Dynasty. Led by their General, Luciusย (John Cusack), the Roman army is seeking refuge from the enemy, Generalย Tiberius (Adrien Brody). They come into contact with Huo An and first thinkย he is a foe. The Romans win the friendship of Huo An by impressingย them with Roman engineering.
Harry Oram plays Luciusโ chief energy and architect. Although not aย leading role, this half-Pinoy actor has been working solidly over theย past few years and is definitely one to watch.
Having studied acting at Lee Strasberg in New York, Harry prefersย dramas and sometimes comedy. Since coming back to his birthplaceย Hong Kong, Harry found his martial arts and boxing backgroundย useful for action films and has now been part of over 10 films in theย past two years.
He has acted inย Saturnalia, Iceman, Stories Forlorn, The Man From Macau, Lan Kwai Fong 3, Something Good: The Mercury Factor, Proverbs, Four Muffins, A Man I Saw Last Night, Days of Awakening, and Trouble Sleeping. He also producedย Vor, My Name Is Tanyushaย (which he directed and acted in),ย The Gift, A Man I Saw Last Night, and Days of Awakening. This year alone, he will be inย Love Stalk, Vor, and Iceman 2.
His latest role is in Dragon Blade, an epic movie with a budget of $65 million, andย set to come out in IMAX 3D on Feb 19th, set for Chinese New Year.ย Could this also see this talented actor take his career to the nextย level? When asked if he would be interested in doing any genre ofย Filipino films, Harry said, โaction, drama, comedy, romance, itโs allย fun. Iโd just love the opportunity to work in the Philippines. I haveย family there and Iโd be happy to make them proud.โ
Dragon Blade is due to be released in the Philippines on February 19. Watch the full trailer below:
