A Chinese beauty product from Binondo listed the Philippines as a “Province of China” on its packaging.
The product, Ashley Shine Keratin Treatment Deep Repair, had “1st Flr. 707 Ito Cristo St., San Nicolas, Manila Province, P.R. China” written as its address.
With this, PBA Representative Jericho Nograles is looking to ban the distribution of the said beauty product. Nograles has written to the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) to investigate the matter.
In Nograles’ letters to the DTI and the FDA, he stated, “Any act to undermine our sovereignty must be taken seriously.” He also asked both Offices to “immediately investigate this detestable and repulsive offense against our nation, and, if legally justified, prohibit the continued distribution of these products in our country.”
