When In Baler, surf’s up, sun’s out and you’re ready to make summer last forever.
With all the rain and flood happening in Manila, it makes me want to escape the city and reminisce of warmer & drier days. Once the rainy season is over, it would be great to head on over here. And it’s not that I’m a surfer or anything, I just like hitting the beach and soaking up the destination with friends & family after a good 6-hour road trip.
October – March are good months to surf with waves hitting peak quality in December – January.
1. Surf
You can be a seasoned surfer or just a beginner to try out the waves in Baler. Mahdox Surf is a good one to try. Baler‘s first surfing institution, the Mahdox Surf School has been teaching people of all ages to surf long before the bustling surf tourism in this once quiet surf spot began. Being the pioneer in the region, the school passionately remains to be the best and most successful surf school dedicated to promote the sport whilst giving strong emphasis in water safety, ocean awareness and surfing etiquette.
