It is year 4 for Global Women Who RULE Summit and its growth has been exponential. Created amid uncertainty in 2021, GWWR started as a small group of 22 women collectively invited by Apple Esplana-Manansala, CEO of The New Channel, and Founder of GWWR. The lockdown was in place, online the prevailing platform and it was easy enough to meet minds and fuse ideas—and the first GWWR Summit was staged. Every year since, 22 accomplished women, nominated by their peers or those who can be reached online through TNC judged by a responsible jury, joined GWWR and the Summit is now an annual hybrid event attended by women from all over the Philippines and the world.
“Global Women Who RULE as a movement welcomes this year’s 22 new profiles. When we started our community of accomplished women from across industries and demographics, we represented different industries and interests. What bound us together is what we saw were the good in people, those who want to contribute to the public, and inspire leadership and action to help rebuild lives. I hope we are doing well because we have been getting support from many sectors. I think our humble intentions are generating interest,” says Manansala.
Reaching many countries and cities around the Philippines and the world, covering 5 continents for the past 3 years—GWWR once again, goes live on 25th May 2024 at the TNC’s Orange Studio and in Manila, and will stream on The New Channel’s website and social media platforms. The hype is real, and the buzz is getting louder. GWWR is meant to produce good vibes and drive social good that is women-led, of course. But, lifting lofty causes that include Education, Mental Health, Financial Literacy, Human Rights specifically Violence Against Women (VAWC) and Health is more than just ticking the Good Deed buttons. For GWWR, and for Manansala, this is serious business.

Sheu is also an International Ambassador of The Women of Global Change WGC USA; Joyce Mesina Garcia, Executive Vice Chair of the Philippine-American Chamber of Commerce Austin, Texas, USA and owner of Legacy Ensured Group; Kate Hancock, Founder of the Global AI Council, an entrepreneur and a Speaker at Harvard Business School; Dr. Daffodils Guevarra, Branch Manager and Senior General Practitioner for the past 15 years at Prime Medical Centre in Dubai Reef Mall Branch, United Arab Emirates; and Atty. Elaine Bordeaux, Immigration Lawyer and Sculptor from Colorado Springs, USA.
Celebrity and mainstream supers stars are also joining this year’s GWWR such as Antoinette Jadaone, Multi-Awarded Film Director and Producer, book author, well followed Social Media Personality and podcaster; Salve Duplito, ANC and Teleradyo Serbisyo News Anchor, Financial Journalist and Financial Planner; and Rhoda Castro-Caliwara, Founder & CEO of Executive Genesis Services, Inc., Immediate Past President of the Philippine Association of Legitimate Service Contractors (PALSCON) 2016-2023. GWWR 2024 has chosen Best Buddies Philippines as this year’s charity partner. Best Buddies’ mission is to uplift the quality of life of persons with intellectual and developmental diversities here in the country. Their country head, Michelle Aventajado completes the GWWR profiles this year.
