Singer-actress Gigi de Lana revealed in her Facebook post that she had fallen victim to scammers and lost money intended for her mother’s medical expenses.
“Please be kind. Simula ng naaksidente kami from car accident. ang dami na nang scam sakin. ninakawan ako sa BDO kinuha lahat ng laman na pang medical bills sana yun ni mama,” [sic] she expressed.

Gigi shared her disappointment and frustration with people who scammed her as she recalled talking to them over the phone and receiving get well soon messages before looting money from her bank account.
“Sinabihan pa ako sa phone call ng ‘get well soon po kay maam gigi’ tapos after nun ninakawan na ako ng tuloy tuloy hanggang sa maubos laman. grabe kayo. Di na kayo naawa,” [sic] she added.
The singer-actress pleaded to the public to stop scamming and stealing from other people. She also posted some photos of her injuries from the car accident last month with her band and asked the netizens to understand where she’s coming from.
“Nga pala ito itsura ko nung after a few days maaksidente. Sa mga hindi alam na ganito kalala and hinusgahan ako na nag inarte ako. Please be kinder. Love you all still. Please let us be kinder sa isa’t isa,” she concluded.
Gigi’s mother has been diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. She made public her mother’s health condition earlier this year after cutting her hair short to support her mother, who has been undergoing chemotherapy.
The 27-year-old is also selling some of her personal items, including her “iconic crop tops,” to raise funds for her mother.
