The Department of Tourism (DOT) has made a significant stride in elevating the Philippines as a premier destination for dental tourism by accrediting the Gan Advanced Osseointegration Center (GAOC) as the first dental clinic in the country. This landmark partnership between the DOT and GAOC marks a new era for the Philippine dental industry, positioning the nation as a global hub for world-class dental care.
The accreditation, granted by DOT Memorandum Circular No. 2024-0001, recognizes GAOC’s commitment to providing exceptional dental services that meet international standards. With ten branches, including some under its sister clinic Novodental, receiving prestigious accreditation, GAOC is poised to attract dental tourists worldwide.
“We’re proud to partner with a company like GAOC, which has a strong reputation for quality and innovation,” said DOT Director for Office of Product and Market Development, Paulo Tugbang. “This partnership will not only boost the Philippine economy but also enhance our country’s image as a leading medical tourism destination.”
GAOC Chairman and CEO, Dr. Steve Mark Gan, expressed his gratitude for the accreditation, stating, “This is a historic moment for the Philippine dental industry. We are honored to be the first dental clinic to receive this recognition and to contribute to the growth of our country’s tourism sector.”
The DOT’s initiative to promote dental tourism aligns with its broader goal of developing the Philippines as a health and wellness hub. By leveraging the country’s rich cultural heritage, stunning natural beauty, and highly skilled medical professionals, the DOT aims to attract more international visitors seeking top-notch healthcare services.
As GAOC continues to set the standard for dental excellence, the Philippines is well on its way to becoming a leading destination for dental tourism in the Asia-Pacific region.
