In a powerful move celebrating International Women’s Day, Philippine Airlines (PAL) has unveiled its “Fly With Her” program, a testament to the airline’s commitment to diversity and inclusion. This initiative takes flight through a compelling short film, book and a PHP10M pledge, aiming to inspire and support the next generation of Filipina pilots.
The heart of the program lies in the “Fly With Her” film, a poignant narrative that resonates deeply with dreams and aspirations. It tells the story of a young girl, captivated by the majesty of airplanes, who embarks on a journey of self-discovery and courage. The film beautifully captures her passion for aviation, culminating in a powerful message: There are no limits to what Filipinas can achieve when given the right support. Notably, the film features an actual PAL female pilot, lending authenticity and inspiration to the storyline.

To further amplify the film’s message, PAL has used the iconic Filipino rock anthem, “Alapaap” by Eraserheads. This beloved song, originally performed by an all-male band, has been re-recorded with female vocals, offering a fresh and empowering perspective. The song serves as the film’s soundtrack, perfectly capturing the spirit of soaring beyond expectations and breaking through traditional boundaries.
The “Fly With Her” program addresses a critical issue within the aviation industry: the underrepresentation of women. Globally, only a mere 6% of pilots are women, highlighting the need for initiatives that actively promote gender equality. PAL’s program aims to challenge this statistic, showcasing that Filipinas are capable of excelling in traditionally male-dominated fields.
Central to this initiative is PAL’s partnership with the PAL Foundation. The airline has pledged PHP 10 million to the foundation, dedicated to supporting aspiring Filipina pilots. This significant contribution will provide partial financial assistance, enabling these talented individuals to pursue their dreams of flying.

Beyond the film and financial support, PAL is also fostering a love for aviation in young minds through the “Fly With Her” storybook. This beautifully illustrated book, released in conjunction with the film, shares the same inspiring narrative, making it accessible to a wider audience. Parents can obtain a free copy of this empowering storybook at the PAL Museum every Friday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM throughout the month of March until supplies last. The “Fly With Her” program is more than just a campaign; it’s a powerful statement of PAL’s dedication to empowering Filipinas and fostering a more inclusive aviation industry. By showcasing the limitless potential of young girls and providing support, PAL is inspiring the next generation to reach for the skies.
