Harper Began the road to his basketball career during his college years in the University of Miami in Ohio, where he was the star guard of the team; during his senior season in the university, he earned the All-American honors, an honor given to outstanding amature athletes.
In 1986, Harper began his professional career in basketball. Playing under the Cleveland Caveliers, he averaged 22.9 points per game during his rookie season where he placed second in the NBA rookie of the year standings.
After three seasons with the Caveliers, Harper was traded to the LA clippers, where he played until he signed with the Chicago Bulls as a unrestricted free agent. Harper became a key component to the Bullsโ perimeter defensive play, which developed into a true fan favorite. Harper won three consecutive NBA Titles from 1996-98 under the bulls.
After a solid run with the Bulls, Harper signed with the Los Angeles Lakers as a free agent. Harper earned his fourth and fifth championship in the 2000 and 2001 NBA season, bringing his total NBA Championship count to five. He is one of four players in history to win multiple NBA Titles with two separate franchises.
The first 10 visitors of the NBA Store tomorrow will be invited to attend a VIP launch event that includes a memorable chance to meet Ron Harper. Harper will also visit the flagship NBA Store in Glorietta to interact with fans.
