After 22 years in service, Marco Polo Davao officially closed its doors.
The hotel is located at C.M. Recto Street Corner M. Roxas Avenue 8000 Davao City.
Apparently, it is the only five-star hotel in Mindanao
They posted the following on Facebook as they bid adieu.
About a month ago, the hotel’s management has already announced its impending closure. They thanked everyone who has supported the hotel over the last two decades.
“We extend our gratitude to everyone who has supported Marco Polo Davao for the past 22 years. We now look to the future with trust that we will all emerge in due course from this crisis in God’s time, and that we will do so with greater resolve and resiliency,” it wrote in a post.
Marco Polo Davao is the only luxury hotel in Mindanao, managed by an international hotel chain, Marco Polo Hotels, and is also registered under the prestigious Global Hotel Alliance.
When the hotel opened its doors in 1998, it began a new chapter in the history of Mindanao tourism, not only in building a remarkable landmark, but also a symbol of hospitality for the whole island. It was poised to fulfill a mission of contributing to the growth of Davao and Mindanao as a premier destination in the Philippines.
