What started out as an innocent craving for chicken turned into a feud that’s been going on for almost a week now.
The argument started with this tweet by user @noel_aldrin who shared his craving for chicken and its unavailability:
pUTANGINA NAKAKITA AKO NG CHICKEN MCDO AD SA FB BAKIT WALANG MANOK YUNG PUTANGINANG MCDO DITO SA STATES

As there are many chicken options almost anywhere, he specifically craved for Chicken McDo. On June 22, Twitter user @anthonyranque shares his distaste for the other user’s tweet regarding the craving.
Nagrereklamo yung mga Filipino kung bakit walang ganito, ganyan, gano’n. To be fair, you should adjust to the culture kung nasaan kayo. Marketing strategy ng McDo Philippines na may kanin dito sa Filipinas dahil agricultural land tayo at likas na kumakain tayo ng kanin dito. https://t.co/lH4Dbh4POa

(Rough translation: Other Filipinos complain about why they don’t have this or that. To be fair, you should adjust to the culture of where you are. It is the marketing strategy of McDo Philippines that there is rice here because we are an agricultural land where we naturally eat rice.)
He goes on to continue his tweet on a thread, he shares:
May glocalization na tinatawag na kung saan, yung produkto ay inaakma sa local taste which is mas matimbang na gawan nila yung kung ano yung kinakain ng majority.
Gets ba?
โ Anthony #TanggolWikaAtBayan (@anthonyranque) June 22, 2019
(Rough translation: There is a thing called glocalization wherein the product is adjusted according to the local taste which they will then adjust according to what the majority eats.)
Many other users have engaged to @noel_aldrin’s defense as he was just craving for chicken yet he was called out for it with a lengthy tweet.

On June 24, @anthonyranque has clarified his tweet regarding the guy’s craving and defended himself by saying he did it as part of a social experiment:
It was a social experiment. Hindi ko kilala yung tao para malaman kung may magre-react ba, na simple lang naman yung gusto ng tao pero kinupal ko. Some Filipinos are exposed kung saan nila ginagamit yung boses nila. At talagang lumaki pa ang isyu.
โ Anthony #TanggolWikaAtBayan (@anthonyranque) June 24, 2019
(Rough translation: It was a social experiment. I don’t know the person to know if somebody will react. I wanted something but I was a jerk. Some Filipinos are exposed to where they want to use their voice. And really, the issue grew.)
Some netizens reply that his social experiment only backfired and that saying so only is merely an excuse.

1) Ano hypothesis
2) Ano criteria ng participants
3) Pano mo ika-quantify ang nakuha mong data at ano ang significance nito
4) Nasaan ang debriefing na magpapaliwanag kung bakit mo kinupal yung mga participants at bakit kinailangan mo sila pagtripanStop using this excuse omfg https://t.co/eAF6WdvowZ

Do you think that this is something worth arguing about?
