31-year-old actress Erich Gonzales is reportedly tying the knot with her non-showbiz partner after a picture of their wedding banns has gone viral online.
Wedding banns are the public announcement in a Christian parish church of an impending marriage between two persons for the purpose of enabling anyone to raise any legal impediments to the marital union in order to prevent marriages that are invalid. Erich and her partner Mateo Rafael Lorenzo’s banns were posted Saint James the Great Parish in Ayala Alabang where the two are scheduled to be wed on March 2022.

The viral photo surprised many fans as Erich has yet to make the announcement of her engagement. In fact, she has kept her relationship with her non-showbiz boyfriend away from public eye in the past years, sharing little to nothing about him apart from him being related to Claudia Barretto’s boyfriend, Basti Lorenzo.
But her decision to keep her love life private is due to her wanting to “protect” it in fear of “ruining” it if she shared too much. In a vlog she posted in 2019, she said, “I want to protect something so precious to me, something beautiful. I don’t want to ruin it so sa akin na lang iyon (I’ll just keep it to myself).”

It’s unknown when and how Erich and Mateo began dating but Erich has mentioned having a suitor as early as 2017. In 2018, she called herself “single but not available.” In 2020, she shared a vlog of her 30th birthday wherein she showed glimpses of Mateo and even named him as the one who gifted her an espresso machine which she unboxed in the video.
According to reports, Mateo is a businessman and the son of the president of popular food franchises.
