Prime Video announced the renewal of Amazon Original “Drag Den with Manila Luzon,” the hit Filipino reality competition show. This marks the global streamerโs very first local show renewal in Southeast Asia. “Drag Den with Manila Luzon” Season Two promises to be even bigger, with a new season, a new den, and a new set of rules, and will launch exclusively on Prime Video in the Philippines and more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
Produced by CS Studios, series creator and director Rod Singh, and Antoinette Jadaone of Project 8 Projects, “Drag Den with Manila Luzon” has had a successful eight-episode run, culminating in an epic finale last January 26.
โWeโre thrilled this showโs success has left our viewers wanting more,โ said David Simonsen, director of Prime Video, Southeast Asia. โWeโre always on the lookout to create entertaining content that is relevant to our diverse local audienceโs taste, and itโs going to be exciting to work together with Rod and the rest of the “Drag Den with Manila Luzon” creators to make Season Two even more entertaining.โ
โWeโre just grateful for all the positive reactions weโve received so far,โ shared Rod Singh, the showโs creator, and director. โIt shows that audiences from around the world are connecting with our show and the messages we want to convey. Itโs been quite a journey for us; the history of Pinoy drag culture is full of unsung heroes, and weโve come a long way. Weโve had clear intentions about bringing the show to where it is now. The show stood for many things, and thanks to our audience, because they, too, stood with us. And because of their support, weโll continue the fight in Season Two. Bigger and better, definitely.โ
Hosted and executive produced by โDrag Lordโ Manila Luzon, the first season presented the Philippinesโ previously under-the-radar drag culture to the world. Its finale saw NAIAโonce an underdog in real life and on the showโcrowned as the first Drag Supreme, besting co-finalists Shewarma and Maria Christina.
