Derek Ramsay issued a warning to all Filipinos to be careful when handling UV lights at home after his painful and scary experience.
In a morning talk show, the 43-year-old actor revealed how he got into an accident while fixing his UV machine which he uses as a preventive measure for COVID-19. He shared that he had accidentally looked at the light directly with his eyes which eventually led to him experiencing a burning sensation hours later.
When he couldn’t open his eyes, he tried to remedy it by rinsing them with water and putting eye drops, but the pain only got worse.
“I was screaming in pain,” he admitted. “I was really worried that I lost my eyesight.”
His girlfriend, Andrea Torres, then rushed him to the hospital where doctors confirmed the cause to be direct eye exposure to UV light.
Fortunately, Derek is much better now. Be careful, everyone!!!
