Chrisha grew up watching their mom bake pastries, so it is no surprise that she started creating her own recipes in her early teenage years. “I loved food so much, I would figure out the ingredients in the food I eat in restaurants and cook them at home,” she shares. “I loved cooking, but I loved baking even more.” At the age of 16, Chrisha started selling her sans rival. However, her passion for food did not come without a price. “I grew up being a chubby kid,” she admits. “When I hit college, thatโs when I realized the importance of staying fit. I spent most of my time at the gym.”
Chrisha ended up in the banking industry as this was the most stable job that she could get. Although she stayed in the industry for a decade, she can’t say that she was truly happy, no matter what the award or the promotion she received. She tried to quit corporate to pursue a culinary degree, but was still unsure of her future as a chef.
When the salted egg chips from Singapore got popular, Chrisha tried making her own. “To my surprise, everyone loved it,” she shares. In fact, the demand was so high that she was no longer able to balance her office job and cooking/selling the chips. “I chose my dream… which is to cook!” she beams. “I got so busy with it, it was out of my routine, and I forgot to stay fit. When I decided to go back to the gym together with my diet of just salad, I found it a challenge to get back into shape.”
Chrisha discovered the ketogenic diet in early 2017. In as quick as 19 days, she was shedding the fats that she had been working on so hard to lose. One huge challenge on this diet, though, was finding good desserts. Since there weren’t any keto bakers around at the time, Chrisha did her own research and started baking for home consumption. “I had to study all the ingredients that I could use and not kick me out of ketosis and something my diabetic dad could enjoy,” she shares.
“More than satisfying my sweet cravings, I was happier to see my dad finally enjoy an honest-to-goodness sugar free dessert without worrying about spiking his blood sugar!” Little did Chrisha know that there were a lot of other people desperately looking for good keto desserts. “My goal is to make keto-friendly cakes which taste like the real thing…because why eat cake that doesnโt taste like cake?” Well, she has definitely succeeded as all of her cakes are delicious works of art.
Chrisha’s Kitchen delivers anywhere in Metro Manila and some parts of Rizal, Cavite, Bulacan, and Laguna. They actually have their own fleet trained with proper food handling in order to guarantee that proper hygiene is practiced. Their riders all have insulated bags with ice to keep the cakes chilled, as well.
Of course, it is always best to refrigerate the cakes upon receipt first as they are best eaten cold. Storage instructions for the cakes will all be on their respective tin can covers and boxes, but I would like to note that you can freeze the cakes if you don’t finish them within 3-4 days so you can keep them for longer. However, it is not advisable to thaw the cake and then re-freeze it again; only the portion that will be consumed should be thawed.
Chrishaโs Kitchen is the home of desserts that wonโt leave you feeling guilty. “We want everyone to be able to enjoy sugar-free desserts that donโt sacrifice taste and quality,” Chrisha points out. “Made with premium ingredients, each cake is filled with rich and complex layers of taste.”
As a practitioner of the ketogenic diet, Chrisha’s recipes were formulated using only real keto-compliant ingredients backed by extensive research. Each cake has macros carefully computed to ensure that they are really low in carbohydrates. Their clientsโ glucose tests can also attest that these are indeed low-carb and sugar-free – another true test of how delicious a keto cake can be!
Chrisha’s Kitchen also promises that each cake on their menu fulfills these five qualities:
